Fiona Callow's blog about getting inspired and staying inspired. Yes, this is the home of "Try It On Tuesday" -- that’s when I take a dress, try it on, have a photo taken, then write something inspired by the dress that gets posted on Tuesday. (If the mood strikes I sometimes post more often, too.) It's a writing exercise for me, something I designed to keep writing fun for me. (I write these stories fast, usually in the gaps in my day. I am also writing a novel.) What's the point of all this, you ask? For me: mental stimulation, staying creative, trying out new ideas ... For you: frivolity, procrastination, a reprieve from the chaos of your life. You get to read some fiction. I get to write some. It's a win-win situation.

ARGH!

I’m seriously annoyed that I just typed out a whole bit about the inspiration for the bit here and several new updates and then the site gives me an error message. frustrating.

Long story short, now. I dropped my son off at playgroup, needed coffee before going to the library, found myself at Tim Horton’s watching a young woman stare off into space from the corner, heard Stevie on the radio, saw a bunch of highschool kids, and thought about the Olympics. Then I went to the library, sat down at a computer, typed this out and sent it to myself on email.

I think I am going to rework “If you ever need a man, I’m your hombre” to submit somewhere. I am really fond of it so far. I’ll keep you abreast.

This week is less messy than last. So, I hope to get the novel fully outlined this week and some good writing put in … we’ll see. It is not like I suddenly got tons of time …
